Morning Skincare Routine
Skincare, it's something that is special and important to me. My family is big when it comes to skincare but the one I'm most thankful to is my grandmother. My grandmother taught me about skincare at a very young age and I started using skincare products around 10-11 years old so I've been on my skincare game for 15-16 years. I'm very thankful to my grandmother for that because she looks incredible for her age and with her knowledge passed onto me, I might just age amazing. You don't have to follow my routine nor use the exact products but if you're interested in what products I use, continue scrolling. Below you'll see what I use and if you have very dry skin like I do and are interested in something new, maybe give one of these a try and see if it helps.
If you try out any of these products, please tag me on any of my social media accounts so I can see. Thank you :)
Cleanser: Tula The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser ($28.00)
This cleanser actually got recommended to me by an Ulta employee when I was looking for a new cleanser to try out. She said that this is great for people with dry skin because it doesn't dry out your skin like other cleansers which is true. It cleanses your skin without drying you out. I've been using this cleanser for 6 months now and I've been loving it so far. I'm whatever when it comes to the scent but it dissipates as I apply the rest of my skincare products. If your cleanser is drying your skin out and you want to try something different, try this one out.
Toner: Kiehl's Ultra Facial Toner ($17.00)
This toner is my favorite. I have tried many toners in the past and besides my nighttime toner, this is the toner that I keep coming back to. It's a simple yet effective toner that is suitable for any skin type plus it's affordable. I've been using this toner for years now so if you're look for an affordable effective toner, this is the one for you.
Essence: Laneige Water Bank Hydro Essence ($39.00)
This is one of the newer products that I've been trying out for the past months. I've used Laneige for many years before and I'm a big fan of theirs. Now for those that are new to Korean products, your probably wondering what in a world is an essence and why do I need one? It's a liquid that's hydrating and preps your skin for a moisturizer. It helps your skin absorb the rest of the products of your routine much better opposed to if you wouldn't use an essence. I discovered essences about 6-7 years ago and I can vouch that it does make a big difference to your skin. This essence may not be suitable for your skin type but with a little research, you can find the right essence for you.
Serum: Drunk Elephant C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum ($80.00)
Drunk Elephant is a new brand that I've been dipping my fingers in and giving a try. Now I know many people have different budgets and this can be on the higher end but this is a good serum. I believe skincare is an investment. It's better to invest now and prevent than wait much later and spend a ton of money trying to reverse the damage. Anyways I'm very blessed to have clear skin and an even complexion so I wasn't expecting much from this product. However this product took my skin to the next level. It made me look poreless and my skin looked much brighter compared to the past serums I've tried. Please give this one a try, you won't regret it.
Moisturizer: Sephora Collection Nourishing Moisturizer - Hydrate & Repair ($16.00)
New product number two. I love Sephora however I've never tried their skincare products before. I was out of my favorite moisturizer which is French cream however I was out of it and I needed a moisturizer asap so I tried this out on a whim. Surprisingly it does a decent job. It's a basic hydrating moisturizer. Would I repurchase it? Probably not. Once I finish the product, I will repurchasing my favorite moisturizer again however if you're in a market for a simply hypoallergenic moisturizer, give this one a try.
Eye Cream: The Inkey List- The Caffeine Eye Cream ($9.99)
New product number three. I have yet to find my favorite eye cream and I've been on the hunt for years to find my favorite one. However I've been doing my research on what eye cream is best to use in the morning that could help with puffiness and dark circles. As I've gotten older, I've noticed that on days that I don't enough sleep that my eyes get puffy. I don't get much sleep because of my work but this eye cream has been doing a great in making me look more awake plus it's a great price. Want to give caffeine a chance in waking your eyes up in the morning? This one is it.
Sunscreen: Kiehls Super Fluid Daily UV Defense Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50+
I'm a big fan of sunscreen. It's been known for years that sunscreen prevents your skin from aging and protects your skin from the harmful rays from the sun. I've been using this particular sunscreen for about 6 years now. I've tried multiple sunscreens in the past but this is the one I keep going back to and will continue repurchasing. This sunscreen once applied give off a matte look to your skin and it helps my makeup look beautiful. It doesn't give off a greasy look nor does it feel oily when applying. It can more on the expensive side compared to other sunscreens but it's worth every penny. You don't have to use this exact sunscreen to protect your skin, just use whatever sunscreen that is best for your skin. Just please use sunscreen. Also if you want to invest in a good sunscreen, try this one.
